For full obituary, see: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Denver Dumb Friends League 2080 Quebec St. Denver, CO 80231 _____________________________________ Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory - Mesa, Arizona >> Joyce Paul 09/25/1934 - 08/23/2022 << Joyce Rhea Hettick Paul, formerly of Denver, Colorado, died peacefully at home in Mesa, Arizona on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Joyce was born to Helen Beatrice (Johnson) Hettick and Edward Kennison Hettick in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she lived for ten years. Her family moved to several other places before settling in Panama City, Florida in 1947. Joyce married Richard G. Paul in 1957 and moved to Idaho and then to Denver in 1960. The couple had two daughters before divorcing in 1975. Joyce and Richard ("Dick") and his wife, Susan, became friends again and enjoyed getting together for various occasions. Joyce was an accomplished musician who built her own harpsichord, sang in several different choirs, and was involved in the Colorado Symphony Guild. Joyce was actively involved in St. Thomas Episcopal Church for many years, as well as St. John’s Cathedral and other Anglican/Episcopal churches in Denver. She worked as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2010. She is lovingly remembered and missed for her sense of humor, her love of music and baseball, and her love for family and friends. Joyce is survived by her daughters: Gail E. Paul and her wife, Judy Neill of Mesa, AZ, and Lynn E. Mora and her husband Juan Mora of Windsor, Colorado, two grandsons: Samuel J. Mora and Alexander T. Mora, four siblings: JoAnn Samukawa, E. Kennison (“Kenji”) Hettick. Marcia Michael, and Susan Hettick, Dick's wife, Susan Schroder, many cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, and her sister Barbara G. (Hettick) Edwards. Memorial Service will be held on September 24, 2022 at 1:00 P.M at St. Thomas Church, 2201 Dexter St. Denver, Colorado 80207. In lieu of flowers and to honor her love of animals, donations may be made to Denver Dumb Friends League 2080 Quebec St. Denver, Colorado 80231 |
