Maricopa Engineer Dies Alone In His Car Out On Desert

Phoenix, Jan. 2--Harry E. Vernon, county engineer of Maricopa county and a 
brother of Guy F. Vernon, chairman of the Maricopa county board of 
supervisors, was found dead on the rear seat of his automobile on a road 
four miles east of Phoenix today.

It is believed that he died from an attack of acute indigestion.
