Betty Lou Hanson

Betty Lou Hanson passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2022. Betty was born on
Aug. 7, 1940 in rural Wisconsin. She married her high school sweetheart,
Russ Hanson, on Nov. 7, 1959. Russ passed away on Dec. 28, 2021. She
worked in the banking industry and was bookkeeper for Russ's excavating
business until 1985 when they moved to Wickenburg. Betty worked at the
Meadows in Wickenburg for 20 years and retired in 2014.

Betty is survived by her children, Cary Hanson, Wickenburg, Kathy Barry,
Cupertino, Calif., Lisa Hanson, Madison, Wisc., Paul Hanson, Arvada,
Colo., Chris Hanson, Thornton, Colo., 13 grandchildren, five great-
grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sylvia (Wally) Yount, and sister, JoAnne
Kostka.

Betty was an avid gardener in Wisconsin and supplied the family with
produce from season to season. She enjoyed reading, bowling, hiking,
walking, bicycling, and was an excellent seamstress. She was known for
always being very clean, tidy, organized, and her exceptional work
ethic! She was an outstanding baker and cook! She was a wonderful
dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sweetheart to all. She was
filled with love and deeply rooted in her Catholic faith.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Friends may offer online
