| Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory, Wickenburg, AZ Joyce Fields June 18, 1928 - October 18, 2022 Betty Joyce Hershkowitz Fields Joyce was born on June 18, 1928 in Congress, Arizona to Sarah and William Hershkowitz. She passed away peacefully on October 18, 2022 at her home in Wickenburg, AZ with her family at her side. She was 94 years old. Joyce married Eugene (Larry) Fields on March 2, 1946 when he finished his time in the US Army. They were married for 76 years. Joyce attended grade school in Congress and graduated from Wickenburg High School in 1946. She participated in all sports and was a varsity cheerleader. To this day, there is always a Hershkowitz in the school district! Joyce retired in 1982 after working 47 years for the Mountain Bell telephone company in Wickenburg. She had a second career as a massage therapist and reflexology professional. She would travel to appointments with her massage table in tow. Joyce was always ready for a good game of Bingo at the Elks or American Legion. She also loved reading, sewing, crafting and always had a new project started. If there was a good garage sale in town, she was there! Joyce was an accomplished bowler and travelled with a team from Wickenburg to national tournaments. She and Larry played competitive softball. Her team was the Sarah Janes. She was very active in BPW (Business and Professional Women), and Eastern Star. Joyce and Larry loved to travel and spent many summers in Lakeside, AZ and Rocky Point (Cholla Bay), Mexico with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers William Hershkowitz, Jr., George Hershkowitz. Richard Hershkowitz, Mack Dowdy, Jr., her sister Shirley Hershkowitz Wachter and her grandson Tyson Bowles. She is survived by her husband Larry, her daughter Lynette Bursheim (Mark) from Wickenburg, her granddaughter Kimberly Halla (Paul) from North Carolina and her grandson Lee Thomas Bowles (Rob) from Maine. Her great-granddaughter Rylee Halla lives in St. Thomas and her great-grandson Mac Kinnley Halla, his wife and Joyce’s great -great-grandson Liam Thomas live in Peoria. Services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11am in the First Presbyterian Church, 180 N. Adams Street, Wickenburg, AZ. See Also: Find A Grave |
