Rusty Flournoy, loving husband, devoted son, and dedicated father to
four fur babies, passed away at age 36 on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Rusty, Melody's Gentle Giant and Little Lamb, was born on July 27, 1986
in Yokosuka, Japan to Mike and Melody, where he lived until he was 15
months old. Rusty's magical beginnings included visiting the Great
Buddha, his first horseback ride on Mt. Fuji, going to the top of
Sunshine City when it was the world's tallest building, and his first
Disney experience at Tokyo Disneyland. While living in Hawaii, Rusty
loved to go barefoot, and wearing "slippas" (flip flops), meant he was
dressed up, and he continued to love to wear slippas. His favorite
destination was the pineapple fields. Following family moves to Hawaii
and Georgia, Rusty spent the majority of his life in Arizona, attending
Chino Valley schools from 1st - 12th grade. During this time, the family
that loves all things Disney visited Disneyland, CA and Disneyworld, FL,
giving Rusty the full trifecta of parks at that time.

17 years ago Rusty and Melissa Brockwell met at a friend's house and he
later confided that from the first time he saw her he knew he wanted to
be with her. His wish came true and they have been together all these
years. He was her magnetic and awesome protector, always supportive and
compassionate. They loved doing everything together--whether it was
attending wrestling events, the fair, going to the dog park, watching
fireworks, looking at Christmas lights with the fur babies, holding pool
parties, eating Rusty's cooking--he is irreplaceable.

Rusty had a real passion for sports and loved to watch the Braves,
Cowboys and University of Georgia Bulldogs win. He was loved by many for
his quirky sense of humor. His uncanny ability to answer trivia
questions will be missed. He had a great passion for his family and
friends and you knew you would be wrapped up in the biggest bear hug
when you saw him. If you saw that mischievous gleam in his eyes you knew
he was up to no good and you better be ready for just about anything.

Rusty was preceded in death by his father Mike (Pops) and Dutchess his
four legged best friend. He is survived by his wife Melissa Flournoy,
mother Melody (Verg) Scott, grandma Sharon Gibson, his fur babies Allie,
Bizcut, Splinter and April, his brothers Michael (Caroline) Flournoy,
Jeremy (Nancy) George, Sterling (Veronica) Scott, Kyle and Bruce Scott,
Sister Lauren Scott and several nieces and nephews and so many loving
aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Rusty's wonderful life will be held on October 22, 2022
at 12:00 pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 6300 W. Camelback Rd.,
Glendale, AZ 85301.

In lieu of flowers, donations for an Atlanta Braves World Series
Championship Legacy brick may be sent via PayPal to @meliss5713, awickin

Just one more line for Rusty: "There is no crying in baseball."
