Phyllis Jane (Osborne) Hewlett

Phyllis Jane Hewlett passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at
Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was
born on August 29, 1942 in Knox, Indiana, the first born of Geneva
Jordan and Dexter Osborne.

After graduating from high school in 1960, Phyllis worked at Continental
Bank in Chicago until marrying Thomas Hewlett on May 25, 1963. Phyllis
and Tom settled in Valparaiso, Indiana where they raised three children
- Michael, Craig, and Kristin. Along the way, Phyllis and Tom were also
blessed with four grandchildren - Kaily (Adam), Ethan (Zoe), Griffin,
and Austin.

After 20 years of being a room mother, chaperoning field trips, planning
holiday parties, and carpooling, Phyllis re-entered the workforce at a
local bank where she retired in 2001 as an Assistant Vice President in
the loan department. Ready for a warmer climate, Tom and Phyllis moved
to Bullhead City, Arizona. In 2018, Phyllis returned to Indiana to be
closer to family.

Phyllis was predeceased by Thomas on their 43rd Wedding Anniversary (May
25, 2006); and by her sister, Bonnie (March 30, 2017). In addition to
her three children, Michael (Kim) of Belfast, Maine, Craig (Kelly) of
Elon, North Carolina, and Kristin of Greenwood, Indiana.

Phyllis is survived by her grandchildren; by brothers, Patrick (Ellen)
Osborne of Tellico Plains, Tennessee and Steven (Donna) Osborne of North
Judson, Indiana; and nieces, Cathy Staley and Madison (Christian)
Fingerhut. Phyllis also leaves behind numerous extended family and
friends who will miss her spunk and spark dearly.

A celebration of Phyllis' life will take place at 11 am (CST) on
Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Church of the Heartland - Starke
County, 6020 S. 300 E., Knox, IN 46534.

Phyllis was a proud member of P.E.O. Chapter AQ in Greenwood, Indiana.
