Joseph Fermin Franco age 89, of Yuma Arizona passed away Thursday August
11, 2022. Joseph was born March 19, 1933 in Yuma. AZ. On July 27. 1955,
he married Ruth, who passed away earlier this year on February 13, 2022.
Joseph was a dedicated father and husband. He was always supportive of
his children and enjoyed being a grandpa. Everyone knew Joseph as
Grandpa, family, cousins, friends, neighbors and his kids.
Joseph is survived by his (3) children Veronica, Joseph (Jr), and
Frances. He had 3 grandchildren; AJ Chavez, Dylan and Nico Franco, and 2
great grandchildren Amelia Ruth and Alexander Joseph Chavez. II.
After graduating from Yuma high school his career started with the U.S.
Army. He received an honorable discharge as Corporal. He continued his
military career for (17) years within the National Guard protecting our
country. During that timeframe he also held a full-time position as a
Postal Rural Carrier until he retired after 33 years of service. After
his retirement he continued working and held multiple positions as
Director of Security for both Cocopah and Paradise Casino.
Services will be held at St. John Neumann Church 11545 E. 40th Street,
Yuma Arizona. November 18th, Friday at 10:00am. A luncheon will follow
immediately after the mass at Church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice
Compassus of Yuma as the staff were compassionate and loving to his wife
Ruth Franco during her troubled journey.
