| Published by Yuma Sun on Dec. 7, 2022 - Yuma, Arizona - Michael Dennis Jones, 69 years old of Yuma, AZ, passed away suddenly in the early morning of November 21, 2022. Mike suffered a severe heart attack doing what he loved hauling a load of hay in his favorite baby blue Peterbilt. Mike was born in Brawley, CA in 1953 and spent much of his life in the Imperial Valley. In 2011, Mike and Linda, his wife of 19 years, moved to Yuma, AZ. Mike was a man with an acute attention to detail, and he carried a deep sense of pride in his work. He enjoyed camping, Jeeping, and hunting, and spent more time on these hobbies in his semi-retirement. If you knew Mike, you know he didn't sit still for too long. He enjoyed picking up hay jobs or trucking trips as part of his semi-retirement. He always said he would work until his last days, and he did just that. As a lifelong trucker, hauling hay and being a part of the local trucking communities was an integral part of him. Above all, Mike loved his family. He was kind, generous, and always just authentically himself. Mike leaves behind his wife, Linda, his 4 children, Steven, Kristie, Desi, and Stacey. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. The funeral services for Mike Jones will be held on Saturday, December 10th 2022 in Yuma, AZ at 12pm at Freedom Baptist Church.
