James L. Teeters, Sr. (Jim) passed away on December 14, 2022, at Naval
Medical Center Portsmouth Virginia. Jim was born to Francis and Patricia
Marie Teeters on July 8,1939 in Trenton Nebraska.

Jim graduated from Culbertson NE high school in 1958 and married his
high school sweetheart, Shirley Binderup. They celebrated their 64th
wedding anniversary in August of 2022.

Jim is survived by his wife, daughter Jamey Lovin of Richmond VA and son
James Eason (Randy) of Norfolk VA. He is also survived by his beloved
grandsons Isaac and Jacob Lovin of Norfolk, VA and sister Sally Canion
(Ken) of Friendswood TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Arda Krepcik, Ida Mae
Ekberg, Marvin Teeters, Frances Saska, and son-in-law, James W. Lovin,
Jr.

Jim retired from the US Navy after serving for 21 years in the Aviation
Community as an ATC. Shirley, Jim, and children were stationed in
numerous ports in the US and overseas. Their favorite port was a tour at
Naval Station Midway Island. Jim's second career was owner and manager
of an electronics service company, Atlantic Viewtronics Service Company
in Virginia Beach, VA. Jim was active in the Virginia Electronics
Association and served as a Regional Director of the National
Electronics Service Dealers Association, where he was inducted into the
NESDA Hall of Fame. In 2000 he retired from all work and he and his
grandsons took to the road by bus and train visiting relatives across
the USA.

In 2004 Jim and Shirley chose Yuma, AZ as their permanent retirement
home where they could enjoy life in a much warmer climate and where Jim
could pursue his number one hobby, fishing. The joy of Jim's life was
spending time at the home he and nephew Steve Saska built in San Felipe,
BC, Mexico and the time he spent aboard his boat, fishing with Steve on
the Sea of Cortez. In Mexico he and Shirley were adopted by and enjoyed
a loving relationship with the families of Jose and Isabel Meza, Angel
and Matilda Rivera in San Felipe, and the family of Chapo and Patty
Solis in Los Algodones, BC, MX.

Celebration of Jim's life will occur at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church
Yuma, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, or ASPCA.
