KEATING,
John D.
Weekly Arizona Miner (Prescott, Arizona)
Saturday, August 22, 1868, p. 3
Death of John D. Keating--Most of our citizens recollect the good-natured,
whole-souled, musically-inspired Johnny Keating, formerly of the
California Volunteers, and who was stationed here in '65 and '6, and we
know that they will grieve to learn that he departed this life at
Oroville, Butte county, California, July 28th, 1868. He was an old and
esteemed citizen of Butte county, and his old-time friend, George H.
Croette (sic: Crossette), editor of the Record, mournes his departure, and
pays a fitting tribute to his memory. Peace to his ashes.
