Will Davis, Age 76, Takes Life Wednesday

Despondency over ill health is believed to have led Will Davis, age 76,
to take his own life on the Eph Baker ranch four miles north of
Wickenburg on the river, Wednesday morning. The aged prospector and
former Salt River Valley rancher was found by Mr. Baker about 9:20 a.m.,
after the latter heard a shot in the small cabin where Mr. Davis lived
near the main ranch house. He found Davis dead, with a 30-30 rifle
between his legs.

Deputy Sheriff C. I. Scott and Justice of the Peace H. P. Marine, both
of Yarnell in Yavapai county were notified and visited the scene of the
tragedy. Justice Marine decided no inquest was necessary. The body was
taken to the Wickenburg Mortuary. Funeral services are pending.

Survivors are said to be a sister, Rose Mosier of Phx and a brother,
Bob, mining south of Salome.
