Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, March 15, 2023, p. A-6 Mary L. Koontz Oct. 4, 1930 - Feb. 28, 2023 Mary L. Koontz passed away Feb. 28. She is survived by her stepson, Charles Koontz, daughter-in-law, Linda Tressler, grandchildren and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Mary lived in Indiana and later moved to Arizona. She taught Sunday school in Aguila and Morristown and also volunteered at Morristown school. She introduced local ladies to General Federation Women's Club and became founder of the GFWC AZ women's club in 1984. She was president of the GFWC from 1992 to 1994. She was elected to the Morristown School District governing board and eventually served as president in addition to being a member of chapter 59 Order of the Eastern Star. This energetic woman will long be remembered for her desire to be of service to those in need, especially as an advocate for children everywhere. She will be missed. Services will be held at the Morristown Church on March 24, 2023, beginning at noon in Morristown, Ariz.
