Brent (Popeye) James Vance 1959-2022 (62) loving father, "Poppa",
Brother and friend was called home to join his parents Jim and Connie
Vance and his beloved dog Charlie Sunday March 6th, 2022 at 12:48 am
surrounded by his oldest daughter and son in law after a long battle
with illness. Brent is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Connie
Vance. He is survived by his five Children: Son, Heath Vance (Melissa),
Daughter, Heather Vance Vargas (Peter), Daughter, Shantana Vance, Son,
Wyatt Vance and Son Waylon Vance. He had 5 grand children James, Rayne,
Erik, Skye and Ben. (and as of 05/01/2023 one great grand daughter he

Bud Vance (Terri), Brad Vance (Debra) and Ben Vance (Lori). Many nieces
and nephews and many friends. Brent was born September 24, 1959 in
Berea, Ohio. The family moved to Arizona in 1974 where he remained until
his passing. Brent was a US Navy Veteran from 1975-1979 at which time he
left when he found out his first born son was on his way. Brent was a
force to be reckoned with with his endless humor and bigger than life
storytelling. He brought a light to everyone's life he touched in a way
that can never be duplicated. He was an accomplished carpet layer and
tattoo artist. His talents were limitless. His passions were drawing and
poetry. He was even published. He loved karaoke and would sing his heart
out to some old Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings. He was a cowboy at
heart hence his son's namesakes Wyatt and Waylon. No one could mistake
him walking down the street. Jeans, T-shirt, leather Jacket and his
signature bow legged swagger walk and almost always barefoot. If he wore
shoes at all and that is definitely a big IF it was cowboy boots. His
story telling tattoos were endless. How many did he have? In his words
"One…I'm just not done yet." His favorite joke was to fake trip in front
of you. Pretty sure he fake tripped on his entrance to Heaven for a
laugh. His endless love for his family was unmatched.
Dad you will forever be in our hearts. We will miss your shenanigans and
bad "dad" jokes (Respectfully). Life will never be the same without you.
But Heaven is lucky to have you. Give Grandma and "Appa" a hug for us
and save us a spot. We'll see you again. Until then watch over us like
you did in life. You will be forever loved and forever missed.
