Roger Echelberger, a devoted family man, a proud veteran, and Havasu
pioneer, passed away on June 5, 2023 at home with his family. He was 86
years old.

In 1957, he married Sandra Hurdel. Together they raised four children.
Van Echelberger (Suzy), Joni Millin (Matt Wanner), Jill Echelberger
(Chris Crismon), and Julie Byrnes (Mike). He was a doting grandfather to
seven grandchildren, Melissa Richardson (Ed), Casey Echelberger, Jason
Millin (Kim), Luke and Blake Echelberger, Cody Pellaton, and Ava Byrnes;
three great-grandchildren, Steven, Nathan Richardson, and Ryker, as well
as many loved extended family members.

Roger grew up in Illinois and enlisted in the Air Force in 1956. He was
committed to his military service, having completed a tour in Korea in
1959. After his honorable discharge, he worked for Beneficial Finance
and IBM in Moline, Illinois. In 1971, Roger and Sandra relocated their
family to Lake Havasu City after taking a Holly flight. After arriving
in Lake Havasu City he began his banking career at The State Bank and
worked his way through seven bank buyouts and mergers until his
retirement with Wells Fargo Bank in 2002.

His family always felt his love, his optimism, and words of inspiration.
Roger never passed a veteran, a dog, or a young child without
acknowledging them.

Roger had a special place in his heart for his beloved Golden Retriever,
Ginger (passed) and his two Shih-Tzu's, Sammie and Maggie, who remained
at his side until his last day.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rose, father Lawrence, and his
brothers, Robert, Ralph, Dean, Paul, and Keith.

At Roger's request, there will be no services held. We give thanks to
Hospice of Havasu for their support.

Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
Thoughts and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lietz-
