| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Friday, July 4, 1958, p. 1 Walter McLaws Rites Thursday Funeral services for Walter McLaws, former Wickenburg resident, were held in Joseph City, Ariz., Thursday of this week. Mr. McLaws, a native of the state, had a heart attack at his home in Mesa Sunday and died Monday afternoon in the Mesa Osteopathic Hospital. He was 74 years old. Mr. McLaws had once been a cowboy with the famous Hash Knife Ranch and for many years was a well digger. He drilled many wells in the Wickenburg area where he lived until 1950 when he moved to Mesa. Survivors include two sons, William B. of Phoenix, and Walter, Jr., of Caracas, Venezuela; a daughter, Hester McLaws of Seattle, Wash.; three brothers, five sisters and six grandchildren. His daughter-in-law, Mrs. William B. McLaws, is the former Martha Hale, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Vertie Hale of Wickenburg. They have two children, Virginia, 4, and Gary, 2. |
