| Published by Today's News Herald on Jul. 23, 2023 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - William A. Flatley (Bill) was 75 years old when he passed away suddenly on July 10, 2023 at his home. Bill was born in Chicago, then grew up in San Diego where he attended Glendale Community College, UCSD and graduated UCLA with a degree in counselling. While in college, he was on the men's basketball teams, and was often their high scorer. After graduating, he was employed as a high school counselor and coach. Bill had a variety of interests –he won awards as a bodybuilder, was a personal trainer, a bouncer, enjoyed all subjects of books and a good discussion about almost anything. Bill moved to Lake Havasu City to care for his parents and when they passed, he stayed here with his dogs. He was employed at Starline Elementary until 2008 when a stroke disabled him. After he recovered enough to walk, he spent his time at the Lion's Club Dog Park on the channel, visiting with fellow dog lovers and spending hours philosophizing with whomever would join him. He will be missed. Donations to the Humane Society in Bill's name will greatly be appreciated. |
