Mrs. Nick Oberan's Brother Summoned
Nick Mautz, 38, of Phoenix, brother of Mrs. Nick Oberan of Wickenburg,
was fatally injured October 2 when struck by an automobile. Mr. Mautz, a
lineman for the Arizona Public Service Co., was crushed against the
service company truck by a car driven by Ruben Daniels, also of Phoenix,
according to police reports.
Born at Sayer's Station, 10 miles east of Wickenburg on the
Constellation Road September 7, 1920, Mr. Mautz had been employed by the
power company for the last 13 years. He was a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Mercer Mortuary,
Phoenix, with Dr. Joe H. Music officiating. Burial was in Greenwood
Memorial Park.
Survivors include the widow, Ruby; two daughters, Karen and Joan; and a
son, Raymond, all of Phoenix; his mother, Mrs. Jacob Mautz of
Marysville, Calif.; three brothers, Fred and Raymond, both of Phoenix,
and Jack of Taft, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Oberan of Wickenburg,
Mrs. Katherine Spangler of Marysville and Mrs. Josephine Flood of
Phoenix.
