Ada (Echols) Roseberry

Safford: Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Jane Roseberry, 83, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25,
in the Mt. Graham Community Hospital were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in the
L.D.S. Church with Bishop Terry Joe Bingham officiating. Music was furnished by the Relief
Society Chorus under direction of Margaret Curtis, accompanied on the organ by Lucille Morris.
Opening hymn, "Oh, How Lovely Was The Morning" was followed by invocation by Rhondo Evans.
The life story was by Marvin Owens, and the special number, "Whispering Hope" was by Bonnie
Gregg and Dortha Kimball, accompanied by Gail and Rexann Barney. The sermon of comfort by
Gerol B. Smith, was followed by the hymn, "Abide With Me, Tis Eventide". The Services closed with
benediction by Gordon L. Stowell. Concluding services were in the Pima Cemetery, where the
dedicatory prayer was offered by Seth A. Morris. Casket bearers were Ronald J. Roseberry, Brent
A. Roseberry, Steve O. Roseberry, Kenneth Roseberry, Don Colson and Randall C. Rogers.
Complete arrangements were under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Home Safford.
Mrs. Roseberry, born in Manasa, Colo., March 31, 1891 to Martin and Emma Gibson Echols, came to
Arizona as a small child, settling in Pima. She attended the Thatcher and Central Schools and
graduated from the Gila Academy. After her marriage to Joe Roseberry, they established a home in
Pima, where they started their family and resided until 1945 when they moved to Safford where
she has since resided. Mrs. Roseberry was an active member of the L.D.S. Church working in the
Primary and Relief Society Programs. Survivors include two sons, Jay of Thatcher and Karl of
Brandon, Fla., and three daughters, Mrs. Mae Morris and Mrs. Blanch Houck, both of California,
and Mrs. Jessie Colson of Phoenix; two brothers, Bryan Echols of Bountiful, Utah and Fred Echols
of Colorado; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
