| Floreine Roseberry - Funeral services for Floreine Birdno Roseberry, 75, were held Dec. 2 at the Thatcher LDS Stake Center. She died Nov. 29, 1995, at her Thatcher home. Bishop David Lunt officiated and Brent Roseberry offered the family prayer. Bernice Stowell was at the organ for Eunice Whetten, chorister. The Relief Society chorus provided music with the opening hymn, "O My Father" Morgan Tenney gave the invocation and Bill Griffin sang a special number, "The Test". Verle Palmer offered the life story and Audrey Roseberry played a piano solo. Ron Sparks gave the sermon and the closing hymn was "In the Garden". David Gray gave the benediction. Interment followed in the Thatcher Cemetery with Ronald Roseberry giving the dedicatory prayer. Serving as casket bearers were Bryan Roseberry, Farrell Roseberry, Mike Ellsworth, Jeff Shiflet, Rick Gibson and Randy Rogers. Roseberry was born March 14, 1920, in Safford, the daughter of Lyle and Bertha Birdno. She received her education in Safford and Thatcher, graduating from Eastern Arizona College. She also attended BYU. She married Jay Roseberry in 1941. She taught school in Thatcher for several years and was a dorm mother at EAC for five years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. Surviving are her husband, Jay of Thatcher; three sons, Ronald of Safford, Brent and Steve of Mesa; two daughters, Karen Rogers and Diane Gibson of Mesa; four sisters, Geraldine Carroll of Sandy, Utah, Millie Mae Tenney of Vacaville, Calif., Marie Ray of Coolidge and Arva Shiflet of Safford; a brother, Hugh Birdno of England; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of the Caldwell Funeral Home. |
