| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Friday, June 10, 1955, p. 1 Mrs. Ida Willis Rites Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae Browning Willis were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the LDS Church at Prescott with burial following in the Prescott Cemetery. The 70-year-old Wickenburg resident passed away at 3 o'clock Monday morning in a Phoenix rest home where she had been for 10 days. She had been ill for the past five months. Familiarly known as Grandma Willis, she lived in Wickenburg for the past 10 years following her marriage to Rhodom A. Willis who survives. Her first husband, Todd Browning, died in New Mexico. Mrs. Willis lived in Roswell, N.M., for many years then moved to Prescott where she lived for 20 years before coming here. The Survivors She had three children, a daughter, Mrs. Era Cassey, who died in Prescott two years ago, and two sons, Dude Browning and Billdick Browning of Williams; and one granddaughter she raised, Evelyn Harper of Wickenburg. She was the step-mother of Warren and Karl Willis of Wickenburg and Lester, Larry and Marlin Willis of Phoenix, all formerly of Wickenburg. Brothers and sisters of Mrs. Willis are S. B. Tenney, Jr., of Mesa; Aman N. Tenney, Mrs. Dave Lamoreaux, Mrs. O. P. Skousen and Mrs. Pete Larson, all of Chandler. |
