Marilyn (Gibson) Bowser

Marilyn (Gibson) Bowser, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully in
her sleep at home on Oct. 20, 2023. She was 87.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1936 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of Earl
A. and Mildred (Brunton) Gibson. She graduated from Muncie Central High
School where she was active in school functions and various teen clubs
and associations.

She attended Indiana University and later received her B.S. in education
from the University of Colorado. Later she earned her M.S. degree from
the University of Northern Colorado. She taught science and math in
elementary grades of Jefferson County Colorado School System.

She grew up in a family owned ice skating rink and later roller skating
rink. She was an accomplished skater. She later taught many youngsters
to ice skate and also taught power skating to young hockey players. In
addition to skating, Marilyn enjoyed golf, watching football and ice
hockey.

In 1956, she married Larry Bowser, her husband of 67 years. They met at
Indiana University and were married two years later. They moved to
Colorado where they continued college and then resided until 2016. They
relocated to Lake Havasu City in 2016.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy Ann
Sheridan. She is survived by her husband Larry, son Larry Earl Bowser,
granddaughters Leanne Bowman (Shain) of Frenchtown, Montana, and Cori
Bohannon of Amarillo, Texas, and three great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held in the near future.
