Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

Gene Weiss, Jr (68) passed away suddenly on Oct. 30, 2023, at his cabin
on the mountain in Colorado.

Gene was born in Colfax, Washington to Blanche and Gene Weiss, Sr. He
spent most of his childhood in St. John, Washington, which is when he
fell in love with tractors. He was in FFA, football, and track.

His family moved to Lake Havasu City, where he finished his high school
career and met the love of his life, Gay. They were married in 1974 and
raised three wonderful children.

Gene found a way to make a living and still play with tractors. He was
the owner/operator of Gene's Excavating. He worked across the
Southwestern United States playing in the dirt with his big Tonka toys.

One day, Gene stumbled upon some property in Colorado and decided to
build a log cabin. This is when he found a hidden talent for making
beautiful wooden furniture. Gene spent the last years of his life as a
snowbird. The winters were spent in Lake Havasu taking kids on tractor
rides to enjoy the Christmas lights. He spent the summers in Colorado
where he could often be found sitting on his porch at the cabin watching
the sunset and saying, "This is God's country." No matter where he was,
he was always surrounded by family and friends.

Gene was predeceased by his father, Gene Weiss, Sr, his mother, Blanche
Weiss, and his brother Russell Weiss.

Gene is survived by wife Gay (Alger) Weiss and their children, Melanie
Hancher (David), Chris Weiss (Christine), and Nick Weiss (Julie). He is
also survived by his sisters Debbie Weiss and Patti Weiss (Dave
Ostanski). He also had six grandchildren, Josi, Andrew, Brandon, Jade,
Sami, and Colt.

A celebration of life will be held on Nov.18 at 2 p.m. It will be at
Dub's Pit at the end of Chemehuevi in Lake Havasu City. All are welcome.
