| Published by Today's News Herald on Dec. 6, 2023 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Rose Ann Smith passed away on Nov. 24, 2023, at the age of 81 in Chino Valley. Rose was born in Alhambra, California on June 26, 1942, to parents John Joseph LaBouff and Mary LaBouff (Winterbottom). Rose attended the St Vincent's Nursing School, and later received her B.S. in nursing from the University of Phoenix and was a nurse until her retirement. Rose met George Richard Smith, known to friends and family as "Smitty", and married in Las Vegas, in 1966 and were married for 26 wonderful years. Smitty and Rose then moved to Lake Havasu City in 1988. They both share a son, David Smith. Rose enjoyed gambling at the local casinos with her friends and family, playing bunco, completing crossword puzzles, and she loved to read. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church located in Lake Havasu City. Rose is preceded in death by her husband; Smitty, and her parents; John and Mary LaBouff. She is survived by her son; David Smith, daughter-in-law; Tracie, and granddaughter; Erin. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403, with burial to follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Garden, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86404.
