Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

Lawrence Michael Janasik (Larry) passed away suddenly on his birthday,
Oct. 29, 2023, at the age of 75 in Lake Havasu City. Larry was born in
Pittsburgh to Harry Janasik and Mary Kurowski. This automatically made
him a lifelong Steeler fan.

Larry graduated from Carrick High School in Pittsburgh. After
graduating, he enlisted in the Navy, serving from 1968 through his
honorable discharge in 1972. He earned a National Defense Service Medal
and Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon. He also served on an aircraft
carrier during the Vietnam War.

Lawrence married Susan Marie Doerschner on May 25, 1974, and they were
married for 49 adventurous years. They moved from Pittsburgh to
California in 1977, then to Lake Havasu City in 1990. Larry worked for
Sterilite Corporation for 21 years as a forklift mechanic.

Larry enjoyed volunteering for the Lake Havasu City Police Department.
He was very active in the Citizens on Patrol program. He also was very
active in the Narcotics Anonymous program and was very proud of being
clean and sober for 33 years.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his wife. They worked security at
Kokomo for 10 years. They enjoyed pandas, magic, card games, playing
pinball, shooting pool, and attending concerts. They listened to heavy
metal and punk rock music. They've seen Blink-182, Sum 41, The
Offspring, Good Charlotte, Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, Kiss, and many
others; but their all-time favorite was Blue Oyster Cult – who they have
seen in concert more than 20 times. Their favorite memory was when the
drummer tossed his drumstick into the crowd and Larry caught it. They
also liked traveling to see all the natural wonders our great country
has to offer. Larry himself was very fond of dragons, otters, and baby
elephants.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his
wife, Susan, cousins in San Diego, and his best friend, Ryan Eckhardt.

A celebration of life will take place on Dec 9 at 10 a.m. at Lamb of God
Lutheran Church located at 2791 Inca Drive.
