| Published by Today's News Herald on Dec. 10, 2023 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Wayne William Powell passed away on Nov. 23, 2023, at the age of 77 in Lake Havasu City. Wayne was born in Burbank, California on Sept. 19, 1946, to parents Edith and Samuel Preston Powell. Wayne worked as a heavy equipment mechanic in the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He married his loving wife Rhonda on April 1, 1979, in Carson City, Nevada. They have been married for 44 wonderful years. They raised two boys and two girls stepsons: Tyrone C. Nester and Charles H. Powell III and stepdaughters: Gerri L. Nester and Tammy L. Nester. Wayne enjoyed NASCAR, spending time with his family, and camping. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Samuel Powell, and Wayne's brother, Gary Powell. He is survived by his wife; Rhonda Powell, children; Tyrone, Charles, Gerri, and Tammy. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz Fraze Funeral Home. |
