Orval "Dave" Walter was born in Corning, Iowa to Richard and Mildred Walter. He grew up with his five siblings on their family farm, in Lenox, Iowa. Dave graduated from Lenox Community School in 1976 and continued his education at Southwestern University Community College with a degree in auto mechanics. After college, Dave opened Dave's Garage in Lenox, before moving his family to Wickenburg in 1986. While living in Wickenburg, Dave worked at Bromm Chevrolet as a mechanic and later for Jones Ford, where he retired as service manager. Dave was Ford Senior Master Certified and Level 3 Chrysler Certified. Anyone who knew Dave knew that he had a wealth of knowledge in the automotive field. He passed this knowledge and passion down to his three boys who all have worked or are currently working in an area of the automotive industry. Not only did he pass down his love for cars, but he also passed down his love for motorcycles. He enjoyed riding with his boys as well as friends. Outside of the automotive world, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, spending time with his family and watching his grandkids grow. Dave didn't know a stranger and made friends wherever he went. Dave is survived by his three boys Jacob (Tera), Rick (Anna), and Cole (Sharde'); and grandchildren, Alexa, Kash, Emma, Heather, Morrison, Kaleb, Elisabeth, Abigail, Presley, and Joshua. Dave had five siblings, Susan (JR) Leach, Jeannie (Jerry) Masters, Janis (Tom) Christensen, Mark (Juliann) Walter, Dr. John (Jane) Walter and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mildred. A celebration of life will be held at Alliance Bible Church in Prescott, June 10 at 2 p.m. Dave's family is asking that in lieu of flowers to make a memorial donation to New Song Recovery Home, 810 Allen Lane, Prescott, AZ 86303 or online at newsongrecoveryhome.org. |
