Karen Lynn Chavez

Karen Lynn Chavez, born on Dec. 28, 1946, and passed away on Nov. 7,
2022, was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. She was
a devoted member of the Church of Christian Scientist and lived her life
guided by her faith.

Karen's talent as a seamstress was widely recognized and appreciated.
She not only altered clothes for others but also created beautiful
wedding dresses. Additionally, she played a crucial role in ensuring the
safety of the Lake Havasu City Police by making bulletproof vests
through the uniform shop. Karen's dedication to her craft was evident in
every stitch.

In her professional life, Karen worked at Ross, where she found joy in
interacting with customers, coworkers, and the vibrant atmosphere of the
store. Outside of work, she embraced an active lifestyle, enjoying
walks, hikes, and gardening. Karen even learned how to country dance,
showcasing her adventurous spirit and love for new experiences. She
would often participate in country events and run/walk events, adding a
touch of friendly competition to her endeavors.

Beyond her accomplishments and hobbies, Karen was known for her
kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to God, her family, and her
church. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and faith that will
continue to inspire those who knew her.

Karen is survived by her brother, Wade Friedrichs, her daughters, Dawn
Phelps, Tammy Reisenauer, and Tracy Chaney, her son, Lucas Chavez, and
her beloved grandchildren, Monique Olson, Berlyn Reisenauer, Jeremy
Reisenauer, Ronnie Phelps, Sydney Hernandez, Haden Chaney, Tanner
Chaney, Erin Phelps, Aleigh Chavez, and Jake Chavez.

A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the
First Church of Christ Scientist, located at 225 S. Acoma Blvd., Lake
Havasu City, AZ 86406. This gathering will be an opportunity for family,
friends, and community members to come together and honor Karen's life,
sharing memories and finding solace in each other's presence.

Karen Lynn Chavez will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in
the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
