| Published by Today's News Herald on Mar. 6, 2024 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Billy Gail Skaggs, 74, peacefully passed away on Feb.12, 2024, at his home in Fairborn, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family and his faithful dog Sissy. Billy was born July 31, 1949, in Borger, Texas. He graduated from Parker High School in Arizona in 1967 and lived in Guymon, Oklahoma for 40 years with his family before relocating to Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Dortha Skaggs, his sister Cheryl, and his brother Gary. Billy is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 42 years, Linda, six children, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister. Billy dedicated much of his life to the cattle feed yard business before transitioning to a career in truck driving for Reliant Transportation, where he worked diligently for 8 years before retiring at the age of 67. Known for his kind-hearted nature and compassionate spirit, Billy was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether they were a stranger or a friend. During his retirement, he found fulfillment in volunteering at his local church and indulging in his hobbies, which included attending car and horse shows and experimenting with new recipes. He will be fondly remembered for his warm heart and wonderful sense of humor, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. A memorial service honoring Billy's life will be held on April 19, 2024 at 3 p.m. at The Main House, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio. |
