Man killed in rollover

Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Officers are investigating a 
rollover collision which resulted in the death last week of 48-year-old 
Gerald Lee Surplus of Sun City.

The collision occurred at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 on U.S. 
Highway 60 near Mobile Gardens in the area of milepost 128.

Surplus was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 60 when his pick-up, a 
late model silver Dodge mega-cab 4x4 pickup, veered off of the left side 
of the roadway into the median. The truck rolled numerous times through 
the center median ending up on the eastbound lanes. A portion of U.S. 
Highway 60 was closed for nearly nine hours.

DPS is hoping to speak with any witnesses or anyone who saw the truck. 
Witnesses should call DPS at 602-223-2212.
