HILL, James Harold

Published by Today's News Herald on Mar. 29, 2024 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - James Harold Hill, 88, of Lake Havasu City, passed away on March 3, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Jim was born on Jan. 27, 1936 to James Otis and Lily Faye Hill in the Norland neighborhood of Clintwood, Virgina. His family moved to Garden City, Michigan, where Jim graduated from Garden City High School in 1950. Jim joined the United States Army after high school serving in the 4th Armored Division at Fort Hood in Texas. After Jim's military service, he moved from Michigan and in 1957, he moved to San Diego, California where he met his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sue Holford, having three sons, Michael, David, and Jeffrey. The family moved to Riverside, California where Jim worked as a computer systems programmer at several southern California hospitals before opening his own insurance agency in Riverside. In 1994, Jim and Sue moved to Lake Havasu City, where Jim loved playing golf, sailing, and riding jet skis. He loved watching his children and grandchildren race at the watercraft races and would often be spotted at Body Beach riding his own stand-up ski. He could be found most mornings having breakfast with his coffee buddies or walking along the Bridgewater Channel. Jim and Sue enjoyed traveling in their RV with the grandchildren, taking trips to Yellowstone and Glami. Jim was a loving father, grandfather, and husband. Jim was predeceased by Carolyn Sue, his wife, and oldest son Michael. He is survived by his son, Jeff, his wife Renee, their children Kendall and Tyler, and his other son, Dave, his wife Ann, his two daughters Heather, her husband Anthony, their sons Anthony Jr. and Ezra, and April, her husband Larry, and their children Starlit and Larry Jr. He is also survived by his brother Mike and sister Betty. James Harold Hill, you are now at peace, but you will live in our hearts forever. We love you so much. Rest in peace. A celebration of life service at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 2225 N. Kiowa Blvd. LHC was scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 1 p.m.
