Gerard "Jerry" Decruyenaere

Gerard 'Jerry' Decruyenaere, 93, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu
City on April 29, 2024. Jerry was born to Arthur and Augusta (Malaine)
on May 8, 1930, in Roubaix, France. He was their only child. They lived
in France until 1947 when they immigrated to the United States. They
made their home in Fontana, California where he lived while attending
and learning English at Chaffey College.

After graduating Chaffey, he went to San Jose State College, attending
until he was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War, serving in
Germany. Upon his return, he continued his studies and graduated from
San Jose State in 1957. He married Donna Marie Parker in Fort Fairfield,
Maine in 1963. They lived in Fontana, California where Jerry worked for
Kaiser Steel Mill and they welcomed their first child, Theresa. Shortly
thereafter they moved to Byfield, Massachusetts where their daughter
Simone and son Joseph were born. He was employed by Sheldon Business
Forms in Lynn and Rowley, Massachusetts, and the Chanticleer French
Restaurant in Rowley.

In 1977, the family returned to California, residing in Apple Valley.
Jerry worked for Kaiser Cement, later becoming Mitsubishi Cement, in
Lucerne Valley, California, in the payroll department. In 1999, after
retirement, he and Donna Marie moved to Lake Havasu City. He enjoyed
fishing, golfing, and most of all spending time with family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Donna Marie, his children Theresa (Floyd
III) Anderson, Simone (Michael Reyes), and Joseph; and cherished
grandsons Floyd Anderson IV, Parker Anderson, and Vincent Reyes.

Visitation will be held May 21, 2024, from 4-6 p.m., with the rosary
said at 5 p.m. A funeral mass will be May 22, 2024, 10 a.m., at Our Lady
of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu City. The burial will be held
at Riverside National Cemetery, March Air Reserve Base, California, on a
future date.
