| Published by Today's News Herald from Jun. 18 to Jun. 19, 2024 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - On June 11, 2024, Sonia Lee Travelstead at the age of 85 peacefully passed away with her daughters Terri and Tami holding her hands. Sonia was born on April 19th, 1939 to Tony and Vera Troncale in Los Angeles California. Sonia met her husband Bill of 63 years on a blind date in the spring of 1957 while he was on leave from the Navy, they were married 6 months later. Sonia worked for Bank of America for over 35 years in the City Of Industry, California and Lake Havasu City Arizona. Sonia was a devoted Catholic and volunteered at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for many years. She was a member of the Western Welcome Club of Arizona, The Catholic Daughters, Rosary Makers Group and Funeral Ministry. Sonia loved animals, especially dogs and brought many home to love and care for. Sonia is survived by her daughter Tami and son in law Jim. She has 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband bill, daughter Tina, Brother Anthony and parents Tony and Vera. Sonia was a loving and caring person, and her spirit and enthusiasm for life will be treasured by the many lives she touched. Service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Ave., on Thursday, June 20, 2024 with a rosary at 9:40 a.m. with the funeral mass to follow. |
