One of Parker's off-road legends has passed away. Max L. Harris died at
his home on Nov. 28, 2022 with his son Raymond and his wife Rachel by
his side.
He was born in Phoenix in 1944. He grew up and went to Phoenix Union
High School. After going to machinist school, he moved to Parker and
opened Lakeside Garage. Later, he moved to Bagdad, where he kept all the
big machines running in the copper mine.
When the mine was closed he moved back to Parker, where he went to work
for the Metropolitan Water District. He retired after working for MWD
for 26 years.
Harris had two other sons, Mark and Michael. He also had a stepson,
Keith, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and off-road racers.
Rest in peace, husband, father and friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to River Valley
Hospice. They stayed with Harris and the family for week.
