LARSEN, Dane


Published by Today's News Herald on Apr. 30, 2025 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Dane Larsen passed away on March 13, 2025, at a comfort facility run by the hospice. His death from cancer was made as comfortable as possible and followed a long road of illness. His brother, Eric, was by his side. Dane was born in Hayward, Wisconsin to parents, Carl and Ellen (Sjostrom) Larsen. The family moved to Van Nuys, CA when he was only 5. He went through the school system graduating high school from James Monroe HS then went on to college at LA Valley College. He was drafted into the military and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne mostly in Georgia. His work was as a loan officer in the Bay Area and as a property manager in the LA area. He was married to Penny and lived in San Jose. They had a daughter, Tracy who now resides near Chicago. Dane can best be described as a person with a competitive generous spirit. He was a sportsman who loved baseball, golf, darts, and anything on the water or snow. He would have gone into pro golf or baseball, but active competitive sports also took a toll on his body. Dane leaves behind his first wife, Penny, daughter, Tracy, his sister, Judy and brother, Eric along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed.
