Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jun. 30 to Jul. 7, 2025 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Eugene Robert Goss, age 77, affectionately known as Gene, Dad, Pop, and Papa, passed away at home in Golden Valley, Arizona, on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was born on September 25, 1947. He moved to Bullhead City, Arizona on a hot summer day in 1974 and quickly fell in love with the history of the Mohave desert. Exploring the hills, talking to the local old-timers, and reading every book he could find made him an unofficial historian. And he loved sharing his knowledge with anyone that would listen. His stories and quirky sayings will live on in our hearts. Gene leaves behind his loving wife, Gail; and their three children, Chuck Goss, Melissa Shannon, and Andy Baughman. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Andrew, Jakob, Nathan, Brody, Madeline, Addison, and Justin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters- in-law were also a big part of his life. He will be missed by all of us. Pop asked for friends and family to gather around a bonfire and tell stories to celebrate his life. This is planned for late September. He loved life, and our wish is that a smile comes across your face as you remember a story that includes him.
