Charlie “Danial” Smith Jr., 68, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025,
at his home. Born on June 16, 1957, Dan lived a life full of strength,
laughter, and devotion to those he held dear.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents and his younger sister,
Lisa. Dan leaves behind his beloved wife, Cathy, and his cherished
daughters: Shannon, Christie, Danni, and Lisa. His brother Toby, sisters
Arlene and Stacy. He is also survived by a legacy of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Dan was a man of simple pleasures and strong values. He found his
greatest joy in casting a fishing line on a quiet lake, gathering with
family for meals and memories, and sharing his love for firearms and the
outdoors. He was a storyteller, a protector, and the kind of man who
made you feel safe just by being near.
To know Dan was to know loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love. He
will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held to honor the man who meant so much to
so many. His legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the traditions
we keep, and the love he poured into his family. Date TBD.
