Worker Dies Before Reaching Hospital
Randolph Craven of 116 W. Maricopa St. died Wednesday enroute to St. Monica’s Hospital, after
being fatally injured in an auto accident at the city garbage dump. Preston E. Pettus, city
patrolman, reported Cravins was injured when struck by the tail gate of a truck driven by Walter
Cooper, 1094 West Monroe St. Cravens was holding open a gate to let the truck out of the yard
when the truck tail gate swung open and struck him on the head. It is reported both men were
employed by a garbage disposal company.
Surviving Craven are a brother, Fay Cravens and sister, Eva Thompson, 516 W. Maricopa St.
Remains to be shipped to Locksburg, Arkansas for funeral and burial services. Ragsdale
Mortuary in charge.
