RODRIGUEZ, Carmen

Young Girl Drops Dead At Tumacacori TUMACACORI. Jan. s—Miss Carmen Rodriguez. 15, oldest daughter cf Porfirio Rodriguez, died suddenly at Tumacacori New Year’s Eve. She was here for the holidays with the rest of her family, visiting her father who works for Mr. Derrick at the Guevavi Ranch. They had come on Dec. 13 from their home on the Arizona Ranch in Mexico. Carmen was outside the home of Francisca Sotelo, holding her little brother in her arms, when she felt a pain in her head. She stepped inside, telling her father that she had a headache, and fell backward. She died instantly. The baby fell on her and was not hurt. Miss Rodriguez was the eldest of eight children. She had been picking cotton all day, feeling fine, and was planning to attend a dance with her cousins, Eva, Bertha and Ofelia Rodriguez. An ambulance was called and she was taken to a doctor who stated that a blood clot was the probable cause of death. Funeral services were held Monday at Tumacacori and the girl was buried in Nogales, Arizona. Nogales International January 6, 1950
