James “Jim” Albert Hansen, 81, passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, 2025.
Jim is survived, and lovingly remembered, by his wife, Carol; his
children, Jim Jr., Rick, Jill, and Robyn; his sister, Susan; his eleven
grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren. He will be deeply
missed by all who knew and loved him.
Born in Estherville, Iowa, on Sept. 13, 1944, to Albert and Mildred
Hansen, Jim grew up with a strong work ethic and a natural curiosity
that would guide him throughout his life. After owning and operating a
paint and glass store in Clarinda, Iowa, he moved to Kingman, Arizona,
in 1979. There, he began a long and successful career as an engineer
with Southern California Edison, where he worked until his retirement in
1997.
In his later years, Jim built a home in Meadview, Arizona, where he
enjoyed the peace and beauty of the desert. A true craftsman and
innovator, Jim took great pride in designing and building unique
gadgets, creative projects, and thoughtful home enhancements. His
creativity was matched only by his generosity—he loved using his talents
to help others and to serve his community in countless ways.
Jim will be remembered for his inventive spirit, his kind heart, and the
lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
