Former Tolleson Mayor And Teacher Dies
Horace Kincaid, former mayor of Tolleson and teacher, died Sunday a week ago in Claremont,
Calif., after a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Claremont. A
resident of Tolleson for seven years, Kincaid served as mayor, and was superintendent of
Buckeye Union High School for four years. An educator most of his life, Horace Kincaid was
born in Lee County, Va., in 1883. He moved to California 11 years ago and was southern
California representative for the F. E. Compton Co., of Chicago. He is survived by his wife, two
daughters, a son, two sisters and two brothers.
