Mrs. Lewis Passes Recently, Mrs. Hortense Lewis, wife of Mr. Ed Lewis, 10 North 11th street, passed away following a brief illness. She was stricken on Saturday and died the following Wednesday. Funeral services were conducted from the A. M. E. church, of which the deceased was an active member, and the Rev. Harbert officiated. Resolutions were read by several organizations, expressing regret at the untimely demise of such a valuable worker. The husband accompanied the remains to her former home in Hugo, Okla., where interment was made. Her father is listed as William Mallory from Arkansas, the mother's name is illegible, but from Texas.
