ZURBUCHEN, Mitch Peter


Published by Orange County Register on March 25, 2016 - Zurbuchen, Mitch, passed away March 17, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA. Mitch was born February 18, 1940 in Bangor, WI to parents Johann Peter Heinrich and Louise Emma (Meyer) Zurbuchen. His Christian name was William Peter Zurbuchen. Mitch joined the US Marines in 1959 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA where he met his wife of 55 years, Dianna S Pietsch. They were married February 24, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Anaheim, CA. Mitch worked for 40 years at Sparklett’s Drinking Water and at the same time, began a small business named Mitch’s Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. All his business was word of mouth and he was known for his honesty and fairness. Mitch is survived by his wife; two sons, Richard William and Jeffrey Wayne Zurbuchen; 3 grandsons, Christian Giles William (wife, Beth and daughter Sydnee) Zurbuchen, Patrick Wayne Zurbuchen, Austin Lewis Zurbuchen; and one special granddaughter, Carisa Rae Zurbuchen. Also surviving, one sister, Patricia Ann (Morris) Gendreau; one brother, Herbert George Zurbuchen; brother-in-law, Rudy C (Patti) Pietsch; six nieces, Candace, Pamela, Sandy, Dana, Kimberly & Elissa; and 4 nephews, Peter, Todd, Scott and DuWayne. Mitch lived his life on his terms and was respected for it.
