MEADOWS, Mary Ellen

Published by The Miner on Dec. 24, 2025 - Kingman, Arizona - >> Mary Ellen (Matthews Gibbs) Meadows << Survived by her husband, Tom, 56 years together (53 years married); son Jim (Kat) Meadows, daughter Janelle (Tony) Victory; sisters Sarah (Jim) White and Susie (Paul) Dugo. Also survived by her grandchildren: Megan and Maysen Victory, Shawn Meadows and Aly (Vincent) Shim, and chosen granddaughter Erica (Jacob) Loggins. Additionally survived by Mike (Caryn) Block, Tracy (Stephen) Clouse, Bobby Runner, Jim (Jennie) Dugo, Mary Kay Dugo, Tammy (Chad) Griffin, Ann Matthews-Hulet, and Beth (Keela) Hibberts, along with many more grand-nieces and nephews who were loved like children and grandchildren. Keeping her family close was her first priority. Mary Ellen met her husband, Tom, while working the front desk at the Holiday Inn of Kingman. She accepted his class ring on July 10, 1969, a date they celebrated with greater importance than their wedding anniversary: Jan. 22, 1972. They were together on this earth for 20,616 days, which seems pretty short compared to the eternity that Tom looks forward to in Heaven. Mary Ellen was a devoted wife, proud mother, loving grandmother, and all-around dear friend to too many people to name. She lived life as she wanted to be remembered: as a remarkably good person. She showed her love through words and actions, volunteering with Kiwanis (28 years) and working at Mohave Educational Services Cooperative (16 years) to serve the community and area schools. She believed in education, with one of her proudest achievements being the completion of her degree at 73 years old! She loved her family, her friends, her country, and she loved her Lord. We love her and we’ll miss her terribly. Organ donor followed by private cremation. Celebration of life at Central Church on Dec. 28.
