(Besancon) (Gargan) Young of Congress, Ariz., 72, mother of Dennis Gargan of Congress, died Friday, July 4, 2003 at Del E. Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Ariz. Born in Westfield, Mass. Aug. 10, 1930, she was the daughter of August and Lottie (Surriner) Besancon. She was a 1949 graduate of Chester High School in Chester, Mass. and was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary of Dalton, Mass. She was the secretary for the Congress Belles in Congress, Ariz. Her husband Hiram A. died in April of 2001. She leaves a sister, Bernice Sinclaire of Lee, Mass.; a brother, Fred Besancon of East Otis, Mass.; daughters, Beverly Rorabach of Windsor, Mass., Darlene Toomey of Florida, Cheryl Gargan of Huntington, Mass.; sons Henry Gargan of Lewiston, Mass., Dennis Gargan of Congress, Ariz.; seven stepchildren, 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Community Center in Congress on Friday, July 11.
