| STATE PRISON GUARD DIES SUDDENLY Edward Leighton, a guard at the state prison died suddenly Thursday afternoon from the effects of acute indigestion. Mr. Leighton had his dinner at the usual time and went up to his room to lay down for awhile. About four o'clock he was found on his bed dead, and the indications were that he had died shortly after going to his room from the dinner table. The deceased was aged about 61, and came here from Globe about four and a half years ago. He was a member of the Globe lodge of Moose. He was a native of Maine and came west about the year 1876. At the time of going to press funeral arrangements had not been made. The deceased was popular among the guards and was well liked by all who knew him. The Copper Era and Morenci Leader November 3, 1916 AZ death certificate lists his name as Edwin W. Leighton |
