| Published by today's News-Herald on Feb. 18, 2026 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - James M. Bethoney, age 80, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. James (Jimmy) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was of Lebanese heritage. He was the son of James M. Bethoney, Sr. and Elsie (Yahoub) Bethoney, and one of eleven children in his family. Jimmy was married to Linda S. Bethoney for 23 years at the time of his passing. Their marriage was a meaningful part of his life. His first wife Linda J. Bethoney and his son James M. Bethoney III (Little Jimmy) have both preceded him in passing. He worked for many years as a painting contractor, known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Beyond his profession, James' heart was in the ministry, where he served God faithfully and with devotion, as a Pastor, the Men's Ministry and Head Usher at Living Word Family Church in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who will remember him with love and respect. "Uncle Jimmy" as they called him, held a special place to each one and he loved each one! James will be remembered for his faith, his commitment to his family and his service to God. Jimmy's Memorial Service will be held at Living Word Family Church in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. See Also: Find A Grave |
