| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, May 16, 2001, p. A-3 San Diego Woman Killed in Highway 60 Fatality Department of Public Safety officers reported a fatality accident last week, some 33 miles west of Wickenburg. The accident, which happened about 3:15 p.m. Friday, May 11 on U.S. Highway 60 west of Wickenburg, claimed the life of Mary Kay Stahley of San Diego, Calif. It also resulted in serious injuries to her husband, Richard Stahley, who was a passenger in the car Mary Kay Stahley was driving. DPS reports said Mary Kay Stahley and her husband were traveling to Prescott Valley to visit her husband's son when she drove her car off the roadway, came back across the highway's westbound lane, vaulted a culvert and struck a dirt embankment, causing the car to roll over. Stahley was ejected from the vehicle, and died at the scene, said reports. Richard Stahley was transported by LifeNet helicopter out of Wickenburg to John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix, where he was admitted for treatment of injuries he received in the accident. |
