Jim was born on April 15, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Earl and
Vivian Smith. He was raised with strong values and a traditional,
"Leave it to Beaver" upbringing that shaped the man he would become.

Jim was among the early pioneers who moved to Lake Havasu City in 1969.

first day Havasu High School opened. There were married on June 16,
1973.

As a devoted husband, he shared 52 years of love, faith and partnership.
From the beginning he embraced the outdoor lifestyle, spending weekends
boating, swimming, camping and adventuring on the river with family and
friends.

Following in his father's footsteps, Jim built a long and respected
career as a master sheet metal worker taking great pride in his craft.
He was known for saying, "Look up, I made that AC ductwork", whenever he
passed one of his many projects around town.

A skilled craftsman and creative spirit, Jim built many custom homes for
his family over the years. He was adventurous, fearless in trying new
things, and above all placed his family's happiness first.

He was a proud owner of the local coffee shop, Java Rush, where he would
share his love of music and conversation with the community he
cherished.

A devoted Jehovah's Witness for 51 years, Jim deeply loved sharing the
Bible's message. Through his genuine care and concern for others, he
formed many lifelong friendships and touched countless lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved firstborn son,
Joel David Smith.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his daughter, Lori Hecox and
his son, Brandon smith; his sisters, Linda Mustard and Theresa Martinez;
his brother, Robert Smith; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Nickolas, Cody,
Maize, Paxton and Tristan; his great-granddaughters, Adalyn and Piper;
and his cherished grand-dogs.

He will be remembered for his faith, integrity, creativity, kindness and
the deep love he had for his family and friends.
