Mary Helen Deering, 96, a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and
friend, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2026, in El Dorado Hills,
California.

Born in Kansas City on April 18, 1929, and grew up on her Thomson family
ranch in Newcastle, Wyoming. Mary met Earl Deering in Rawlins, Wyoming,
and they wed on July 15, 1956. In 1961 they moved to Kingman, Arizona
and raised a family. Mary lost Earl in 1992 and lived over 30 years on
her own. Mary lived a life full of grace, kindness, and devotion to her
family. She was known for her beautiful garden, and her delicious home
cooking. A good companion to all, Mary always listened without judgement
and offered her wisdom. She spent a lot of her time helping people in
need and offered a meal to any visitor who came to her house. She was a
strong, proud woman and a role model for us all. Mary warmed everyone’s
heart and was loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted Catholic and
had a beautiful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She found immense
joy in the simple pleasures of life; gardening, cooking, fishing, rock
hunting and caring for her cats and dog.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Deering. She is
survived by her children, Nathan Deering and wife June of Kingman, and
Natalie Brown and husband Steve of El Dorado Hills, CA; grandchild,
Nathaniel Brown of Portland, OR; and all her loving nieces and nephews,
and friends who will miss her dearly.

Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts and lives of those she
touched.

A Funeral Mass will be held on March 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary
Roman Catholic Church. A rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Sutton Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
