| MRS. ROOD TONOPAH RESORT OPERATOR PASSED AWAY Mrs. Marie Rood, owner and operator of the Tonopah Guest Ranch died last Sunday in a Phoenix hospital after a very short illness, of pneumonia. The Buckeye ambulance was called to Tonopah to take her to Phoenix Saturday night. She was about 54 years of age. Mrs. Rood came to Arizona ten years ago from Detroit, Mich., and went to Wickenburg where she has operated the Casa Del Sol there until some little time ago when she came to Tonopah. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Henry H. Hernandez of Venezuela, South America, and two granddaughters, daughters of the latter, who are attending college somewhere in the United States. Mr. Ganley, of the Buckeye Funeral Home notified Mrs. Hernandez of her mother’s death and she tried to secure airplane passage here but was unable to do so. Funeral services are to be held Friday afternoon at the Greenwood Memorial Chapel in Phoenix with interment in Greenwood. The Buckeye Funeral Home is in charge.
